Fournier Centauri Red Description
The 2009 O. Fournier Centauri is a blend of Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Carignan. The vines for the Cabernet Franc are around 120 years old and the vines for the Cabernet Sauvignon are close to 110 years in age. This shows exceptional depth with black fruits complimented with shades of tobacco and cedar spice along with a light cocoa powder component that is layered and complex in the palate. Blessed with good concentration this is not a juicy style and finshes dry. Unfiltered the tannins are evident but are finer grained, giving some good supporting structure along with some focusing grip to the sweet fruit base. Just now starting to open up this should be enjoyed over the next 3-4 years quite easily.
