La Celia Pioneer Malbec 2020
Eugenio Bustos arrived in the Uco Valley and planted the first Malbec from France, which he obtained as payment for the sale of his best horses. Thus was Finca La Celia born in 1890. As a team, we value and respect the profound tradition of La Celia for more than 100 years of solid teamwork, allowing the company to reach challenging goals which have ranked us amongst wineries of an international quality. Our ideas are the result of an inspiration based on excellence and professional values. Dedicated commitment with constant innovation and new projects are our basic tenets which guarantee the growing reputation of our wines.
La Celia Pioneer, the first in the Uco valley. This wine is the fruit of his labor, balanced and complex. Its hints of cherries, fresh plums and flowers can be easily distinguished. Its finish is aromatic and kind.
Nose: Expect aromas of plum, blackberry, some cherry and floral notes. Subtle hints of vanilla, spice, or toast.
Palate: The ripe and fresh fruit notes carry through on the palate. Balanced tannins that are noticeable but not astringent.
Finish: Fruity with hints of oak. This wine lingers harmoniously for quite some time.
Pairing
Grilled meats: Malbec's fruitiness and tannins stand up well to the smokiness and richness of grilled meats like steaks, burgers, and sausages.
Roasted vegetables: Roasted vegetables like peppers, onions, and eggplant can match the sweetness of the Malbec's fruit notes.
Hard cheeses: Cheeses like cheddar, gouda, or manchego can hold their own against the Malbec's tannins.
Stews: A hearty beef or lentil stew can be a great match for Malbec. The wine's fruitiness can help to cut through the richness of the stew.
