92-Points James Suckling
A fragrant nose of pine, blackcurrant, blackberry and overturned earth. Full-bodied with soft tannins. Meaty on the palate. Rich, savory and concentrated. Sustainable. Drink or hold.
Thoughts
Rich, robust rife with notes of black cherry, licorice, leather and tobacco notes. Broad-shouldered, concentrated fruit and a deep color.
A full-bodied Columbia Valley Cabernet that helps to dispel the notion that great American wines come only from California.
Pairing
Grilled leg of lamb with garlic and rosemary, braised short ribs, steak with portobello mushrooms
History
Celebrating more than 50 years of winemaking. Since then, we have combined Old World winemaking traditions with New World innovation. In fact, Chateau Ste. Michelle is one of the few premium wineries in the world with two state-of-the-art wineries, one for red and one for white.
The whites are made at the Chateau in Woodinville, WA, while the reds are made at our Canoe Ridge Estate winery in Eastern Washington.
