Anderson Family Vineyards Pinot Noir Dudee Hills 2021
While there is still a wealth of red fruit and a lush character to the mouthfeel, the wine is better defined by its underlying mineral nature and far more assertive and lean structure. The underpinning elements will really come to the forefront and make for a wine with great capacity to carry fruit but with an interesting austerity to that fruit that provides a level of complexity that will be, at the very least, different than other Dundee Hill offerings.
A deeply complex, bold and rich Pinot Noir that will only get better with time.
Nose: you'll find notes of red fruits like cherry, raspberry, and cranberry, as well as floral aromas like rose and violet. There are also hints of spice, such as cinnamon, nutmeg and truffle notes.
Palate: the wine is smooth and balanced, with medium body and bold tannins. The fruit flavors are more pronounced, with a lingering finish that is both long and complex.
Finish: lingering and complex, leaving a lasting impression with notes of red fruit, spice, along with a touch of minerality.
Pairing Notes
Grilled Salmon: The wine's bright fruit flavors complement the salmon's delicate skin, while holding up to its high fat content.
Roast Chicken: The spice notes in the wine pair well with the savory flavors of roasted chicken.
Pasta with Mushrooms: The earthy flavors of mushrooms and the wine's subtle minerality create a delicious pairing.
Lamb: The wine's complexity can stand up to the bold flavors of lamb.
