Achaval Ferrer Cabernet Sauvignon 2019
An accurate reflection of its variety, Cabernet Mendoza delivers a sharp and direct message where the fruit overcomes the mineral nuances. Originating from small patches of vineyards located in the first area in Mendoza, this wine that has very little production highlights a juicy texture filled with black and red fruitiness. Far from abstractions it allows for a lovely walk toward that of pleasure. Cabernet Mendoza is an expression of spontaneity and vitality resulting from its youthfulness.
Nose: Complex and expressive. The first aromas to emerge are blackberries and cassis, followed by cedar, tobacco, spice, and earth. The aromas are intense and concentrated, but they are also well-balanced.
Palate: Full-bodied and powerful. The wine is loaded with ripe tannins, but they are well-integrated and do not overpower the fruit. The flavors of black fruits, dark chocolate, coffee, cedar, and tobacco are all present on the palate. The wine is long and lingering on the finish.
Finish: Long, lingering, smooth, complex, and elegant. The flavors of black fruits, dark chocolate, coffee, cedar, and tobacco linger on the palate for a long time.
Rated 92-Points James Suckling
Sweet red chili and tobacco notes to the blackberry, cassis and savory orange-peel character. A medium-to full-bodied cabernet sauvignon, packed with quite broad, dense and chewy tannins on the palate.

Winery
Achaval Ferrer was founded in 1995 by four Argentines and two Italians: Santiago Achaval, Manuel Ferrer, Tiziano Siviero, Roberto Cipresso, and Eduardo Bulgheroni. The winery is known for its production of high-quality Malbec wines.
Since its origins, the winery has followed a clear pathway traced by commitment with and respect for nature. Achaval Ferrer bases its winemaking on fundamental pillars and a minimal intervention principle from the vine to the wine.
Ours are centennial, own-rooted vines, extremely low in yield; they’re historical monuments to viticulture located on sun-drenched mountainsides irrigated by rivers Tunuyán and Mendoza. These are natural, privileged sites carefully treated to obtain the purest and most honest messages our soils can convey.
At Achaval- Ferrer, we are united by the passion to make great wines, which are faithful gifts of the soil from where they begin. We are a group of friends from Argentina and Italy, together since 1998, sharing dreams and undertakings, challenging ourselves to the commitment to base all of our work on extreme quality and respect for the earth. Santiago Achaval Becú, Manuel Ferrer Minetti, Marcelo Victoria y Diego Rosso and the Italians; Tiziano Siviero y Roberto Cipresso. Roberto, is a renowned Italian winemaker and specialist in small production and high quality wines.
