''On first pour, there isn't much of a nose. Let it sit for a few minutes and it opens up to caramel, mint and spice. I think this bottling has more caramel than the classic Buffalo Trace, which is why we chose it. Allowing it to get more air brings about more caramel and a little less mint and spice. On the palate, it's very coating. The dominant flavors are caramel, mild char and oak. The finish is long and spicy with a little heat to balance it out. A little bit of water brings more caramel and maybe a little toffee, but you lose some of the spice and the finish isn't quite as long. It's bottled at 45%abv and it's very drinkable, so try and be sparing with the water/ice if you want to pick up complexity.''
