Aberlour 12yr has been matured in two cask types, Traditional Oak and the finest Sherry Casks. These casks are specially selected every year by the Master Distiller, Douglas Cruickshank, to be filled and aged in the Aberlour warehouses. The double maturation adds depth of character to this Single Malt, as well as balanced notes of fruit and spices.

The 12 year-old expression is a fine example of how the distinctively crisp, citrus character of Aberlour’s raw spirit is deftly softened by double cask maturation. Traditional oak and seasoned Sherry butts are both used to great effect, as the mellowed spirits within are combined to deliver a subtly balanced flavour.
Wine Enthusiast: 90-95 Points
Nosing passes find delicious aromas of roasted chestnuts, nectarines, apricots, banana, traces of jasmine, unbaked bread dough and yeast, and light honey. Palate entry is assertive and caramel sweet; midpalate is more integrated as layers of sweet grain and toffee intermingle with dried fruits (prunes), oaky spice and marzipan. Concludes sweet, oaky and a touch Sherried.
